3 Homemade Frozen Dog Treats

Who doesn’t love a tasty, frozen treat?

We surely do and your pups are no exception! Thankfully, there are some tasty treats that you can make from the comfort of your home especially for doggie. Take a look at these tasty treats.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Fruit Ice

(This is a relatively easy recipe and requires little prep!)

What you’ll need:

  • water
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup chopped fruit
  • 2 tablespoons of flax seeds
  • bundt or cake pan

What you’ll do:

  1. Blend the peanut butter and water, then pour into the bundt or cake pan.
  2. Add chopped fruit and flax seeds.
  3. Freeze for 4 to 6 hours, before serving in grass to your pups.

Homemade Frosty Paws

(Bone shaped ice cube trays for fun)

What you’ll need:

  • 1 large container (32 oz) of low-fat, plain, organic yogurt
  • 3 handfuls of fresh blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • Other fruits as you’d like – apple slices, orange slices, pineapple slices, and more

What you’ll do:

  1. Chop of mash the banana into small pieces.
  2. Mix all ingredients together.
  3. Place the mixture in ice cube trays and freeze for about 3 hours.
  4. Pop out the frosty paws and serve!

Frozen Meaty Treats

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups cooked meat/poultry/fish
  • 3/4 cup plain low-fat or fat-free yogurt
  • Small handful of finely chopped parsley
  • 1 carrot, cooked and mashed
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil

What you’ll do:

  1. Stir all the ingredients together
  2. Freeze in ice cube trays or 3 hours.
  3. Pour into piping bag and pipe droplets onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, then freeze.

Yogurt holds everything together, and great for digestion

Olive oil is good for maintaining a shiny and soft coat.

Parsley is a great breath-freshener! Fennel seed can be used as a substitute
